Duplicate Transactions after Updating Online Account (FITID issue)

This bug has been around a long time! PLEASE FIX IT! Quicken often downloads the same transaction twice, with two different FITID's. These FITID's differ only by a "V" before the tilde ("~") separator. As a quick fix, Quicken could screen for these mistakes (even before you figure out why it is happening the first place). I have to spend a lot of time fixing my accounts.

Somewhere in the online system, Quicken gets two versions of FITID:

Why hasn't this been fixed? It has been happening for over a year!

The FITID is generated by the financial institution, and is not touched/edited by Quicken. Quicken uses the FITID number, which is supposed to be unique for each transaction, to determine if the download is a duplicate of a previously-downloaded transaction (in which case Quicken doesn't record it) or not. So if the financial institution downloads two transactions with different FITID numbers, Quicken sees each one as unique and records each one. So the problem is with the financial institution you're downloading from.

That said, I'm wondering if one of these is an authorization/pending transaction and the other is the actual posted transaction? Using the bank's website, see if it shows pending transactions, and if those transactions are downloading to Quicken. Then check again a day or two later to see if the transaction has posted don the banks website, and if Quicken has downloaded a duplicate transaction.
