Bitcoin Price/Share Precision Problem

Using Quicken Classic Deluxe, trying to manually track a Fidelity Crypto IRA. Purchased Bitcoin at price of $113,372.20033805 but cannot enter this price as it stops allowing me to enter past 6 decimal places. I cannot enter the "05" part of the price, even though I have precision set to 8 decimal places. I can enter a quantity to 8 decimal places but not the share price of the transaction, so it won't multiply out correctly. How do I allow Quicken to let me enter the full price to 8 decimal places?

    Hello @JCelentano,

    Thanks for sharing these details!

We tested this issue and were able to replicate it. It appears that the problem is caused by a 13-character limit on the share price field. It’s not clear if this is by design or a bug.

    Workarounds in the meantime:

    1. Accept the loss of precision.
    2. Break the transaction into multiple smaller buy transactions, so that each purchase price fits within the character limit. Either way, it’s a good idea to use a note or memo to explain why the transaction was documented this way.

We will be forwarding this issue to the proper channels to have this further investigated. However, we request that you please navigate to Help > Report a problem within your Quicken program and submit a problem report with log files and screenshots attached in order to contribute to the investigation.

It would also aid the investigation to include a sanitized file when submitting the problem report. A sanitized file is a data file that removes personally identifiable information so you can comfortably share this file with the Quicken team.

While you will not receive a response through this submission, these reports will help our teams in further investigating the issue.

We apologize for any inconvenience in the meantime! Thank you.
