Why do I have inconsistent balances on one of my investment accounts

I have a Quicken Classic subscription for Windows.

Version R63.21

Build 27.1.63.21

One of my investment accounts shows one balance in the register which is correct. When I pull a portfolio or net worth report, is shows the balance as being $12,000 more. I have thoroughly checked the report date and custom settings. Everything should be included in the report.

I have updated the transactions and cleared them all.

I did all validations and repairs available other that deleting all investment history.

I have gone through the register in detail and don't see anything suspicious.

What can I do to get back to accurate reports?

I also tried restoring from automatic backups, but the problem is always there.

Thank you for your help.

    Hi @Phawk,

Thanks for the details so far. A few questions to help pinpoint what’s happening:

    1. When did you first notice this discrepancy, and how far back did you go when restoring from backups?
    2. Do you see the same balance difference in any other reports, or just the portfolio/net worth report?
    3. On the Investing tab, when you view the Portfolio screen for this account, does it match the register or the report?
    4. Are you able to narrow down which specific account(s) the $12,000 difference is associated with?

Once we have this info, it’ll be easier to figure out why the report is showing a higher balance and what next steps might help correct it.

    Thank you!
