CITI Card - 400 Bad Request Request Header Or Cookie Too Large

This is happening when I try to reset my CITI Credit card account. I have to reset since Quicken errors out and notifies me it could not connect for about 2 weeks now. This error shows up on the Citi web site when Quicken is trying to login to do the reset. I am using Windows 11 and the Edge browser; both are updated to the latest versions

I set Firefox as the default browser, and I did not get the error, and the account was reset correctly. Since I use Edge as my default browser this is a real problem for me. I have been using Quicken for years and my default browser has always been Edge.

Is this something that will be fixed?

    Hello @prc,

Thanks for sharing the details! The error message you’re seeing (“400 Bad Request – Request Header or Cookie Too Large”) usually points to an issue with cached cookies or stored site data in the browser. Since switching to Firefox worked, it’s likely specific to Edge’s stored cookies for Citi.

A couple of things you could try in Edge to resolve it:

    • Clear cookies and cached data specifically for the Citi site.
    • Open Edge in InPrivate mode and try again.
    • Ensure Edge is fully updated (though it sounds like you already checked).

Since the reset worked in Firefox, Quicken itself is working fine—it’s just the browser that’s hitting a snag. If clearing cookies doesn’t help, it may be something Citi and Microsoft will need to address.

    Hope this helps!
