This is not anything recently introduced - has been around for a while. Problem report already submitted thru Quicken as well - but wondering if we can collect some thoughts on this.
The dialog box for "Reinvest - Income Reinvested" (ReinvDiv) always shows 2 buttons - one labeled "Enter/New" and another labeled "Enter/Done". The latter will enter the reinvestment and close the dialog box. The former will enter the reinvestment and keep the dialog box open for additional entries. Continuing to enter data and press "Enter/New" continues to add new entries. Very intuitive.
The quirk appears if you attempt to edit a previously entered transaction item to a ReinvDiv. For example - enter a Div, then go back and "Edit" that item. The dialog box shows up along with both "Enter/New" and "Enter/Done" labeled buttons. But the tool appears to know that it's now in EDIT mode, and not in new-entry mode. Thus, even though the button is labeled "Enter/New", pressing this does not behave like the prior model. If you change from a Div to a ReinvDiv, for example and press the "Enter/New" button, the item is changed as you'd expect, and the dialog remains up. However, if you enter new data - let's say a 2nd security at this time and press either "Enter/New" or "Enter/Done" a 2nd time, rather than entering a "NEW" transaction, it re-edits the original item.
It seems to me that if the tool is intent on distinguishing between New Entry mode and Edit mode for an existing transaction, then when in Edit mode, either the "Enter/New" button should be left off of the dialog, or changed to something more descriptive of its real behavior (ie: "Enter/Re-edit") - because it does not currently permit a NEW entry from being added to the investment register in this case of the dialog being invoked through an edit action.
