Credit card transaction downloads

Folks- For many months now when downloading transactions my credit card payments reference other credit cards as the pay-from account instead of my checking or savings accounts that I pay them from. This always takes massive amounts of time to clean up both the credit card and my banking registers.

What might be the cause of this? Thanks.

FYI, windows 11 machine and R64.23, build 27.1.64.23 of Quicken Classic.

Check your Memorized transactions. My 1st suspicion would be that an erroneous MT is getting picked up and applied.

I'll take a look at that… I don't find "Memorized Transactions" but I just did a big cleanup under "Memorized Payee List" which looked suspicious. Hopefully that does the trick. Thanks.

If you have issues with transfer transactions not being generated correctly:
For best results manually enter transfer transactions into your register BEFORE you download transactions from the bank which contain the transfer confirmations. For recurring transfers, e.g., credit card payments use scheduled reminders and enter them several days before the due date.
Be sure to use distinct Payee Names for each transfer / credit card payment to avoid confusing Quicken - memorized payee entries.
That takes the guesswork out of the download process. Because a correctly entered transfer transaction already exists in your account registers, the download process should just match the downloaded transfer transaction to the existing one in both accounts.
