New Credit Card Problem

My credit card with Chase was purchased by Barclays so now I have another card. When I set up and downloaded into the new account, I got all the entries and the account balances. However, none of my entries show all the splits, just the entries which are not categorized like they were in the previous card's account. There are a lot of entries listed this way. Is there any way to copy from the previous account and paste into the new account so I have everything categorized and split? I'm using Quicken Classic Deluxe V-R64.23 Build 27.1.64.23 in Win 11.

There's a cutover date when new transactions stopped appearing in the old card account and now appear in the new account.

You started a new Barclays account register which downloaded a number of old transactions which have already appeared in the old account register.
I recommend you delete all these duplicate transactions from the new register. You don't need them.

    You also need to

    • set the Barclays register Opening Balance transaction to 0.00
    • add a Transfer Balance transaction to transfer the balance from the old account to the new account, balance as of the cutover date. You should find a similar transaction looking at the bank's website, to verify the amount.
    • verify that the old account now shows a 0.00 balance
    • change all scheduled reminders, e.g., the monthly credit card payment transaction or any recurring bills being paid from the old account to the new account register
    • consider marking the old account as closed, to prevent accidentally recording new transactions into the old account.
