Capital One Credit charges are downloaded to Quicken as credits

I with the help of support, I deleted and added my Capital One download. Download showed charges as credits. Reducing my balance. Support said contact Capital One. Did nothing has changed.
Then I thought it was my selections of my reports. Could add and delete headings, nothing changed the balance. Every charge is subtracting my balance.
Support said they have not heard this issue to date. I noticed this was an issue in 2019 and 2020, and is not relevant. Thanks

    Hello @LynneEllen,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community with this issue. To help with this issue, please provide more information. Is your account balance showing as a positive number or a negative number?

I suspect that disconnecting and reconnecting the account may have caused the opening balance to change. If that is what happened, and it made the account balance positive, that would explain why charges are decreasing the balance.

I look forward to your response!

Hi Kristina, I did work with support and we discontinued and reconnected twice, and it still made no difference to the balance.
As to your question regarding more information, the account balance keeps reducing as the charges are also reporting as “amount “ credits.

I am attaching a screenshot. I have also sent a screen of what has been checked off for headings. No matter I change the balance keeps reducing.

    Thank you for your reply,

When I look at the screenshots you provided, I can see that it is showing your balance in Quicken as a positive number. That does explain why your charges are decreasing the number. I suspect the most likely cause of this would be if your opening balance changed when you reconnected the account, since that is a known issue (for more information, click here).

To check if your opening balance did change, I recommend restoring a backup from before the issue happened, take note of the opening balance for the account showing in that restored file, then return to your main file and check to see if the opening balance matches or not.

Please let me know how it goes!
