After closing an account the value prior to closing is not reflected in the investment graph (Q mac)

Q Mac Version 8.3.1 (Build 803.58866.100). After closing an account and transferring funds to another account, the closed account's value before closing is missing from the investment graph. Therefore the graph shows a large jump in value on the day the funds were transferred. Not sure when this started, but there is a post from someone who was having this problem in 2022.

If you mark the account as closed but NOT hidden, it will still be included in the investment graph. If you hide the account when you close it, then you will have the problem you're seeing since hidden accounts are indeed not included in the graph.

If it bothers you to see closed accounts in the sidebar you can choose to not display those and they will still be included in the graph.

Thanks, that worked. I couldn't figure out how to hide the closed accounts in the sidebar until I went to the sidebar settings (three dots above the sidebar then "sidebar setting").

There's a "trick" to get around the poor design of how the graph handles old accounts. Make sure that your former account(s) are marked as Closed, but they are NOT marked as Hidden (e.g. the "Hide in Lists" checkbox is unchecked in the Accounts > Hide & Show Accounts screen). Then, in Preferences > Sidebar, uncheck the box for Accounts to Display > Closed. This will result in closed accounts not showing in the sidebar, but still showing in the investments Portfolio graph. (Unfortunately, the closed account will now also show up in any dropdown list of accounts, which you likely don't want.)

I think this is bad design from the Quicken Mac team. "Hide in Lists" should remove any account from dropdown lists, but should not exclude the data from the historical graph. Unfortunately the developers seem not to agree. But the configuration above seems to be the best alternative.
