Fidelity download errors with new connection method 25.09.13
Running Quicken Classic Deluxe for Windows R64.25.
When I tried to update Fidelity today I got a notice inviting me to authorize Fidelity’s new connection method.
I should have put it off until required because there were problems:
-one of several accounts could not be linked to an existing quicken acct because that existing account was omitted from the picklist. However, that acct. in Q. retained its online setup and I was able to update it normally.
-every account that was linked had the following errors in the download:
--there were duplicate transactions that had to be deleted manually for the period 8/29/25 thru 9/12/25.
--there were errors in the comparison of downloaded holding amounts vs. amount in Quicken. It seemed to me that some shares existing in Q were not correctly read by the software. This affected only one or two items: #shares in one holding and/or the balance in the Money Market fund SPAXX.
Have other users seen these issues?

I also updated to the new connection method today.
No problem linking to existing accounts.
I also received multiple duplicate transactions and needed to remove those downloads manually.
I also received comparison errors relating to missing SPAXX shares, and ended up ignoring them.
Hopefully, this was a one-time fluke, since it took quite some time to resolve, and I have no desire to repeat the process…😒

Hello @dc317community,
Thank you for sharing your experience. Whenever you change the connection method you are using for an account, there is a risk of duplicate transactions. The change in connection method makes it harder for Quicken to tell that the transaction was already downloaded. Deleting the duplicates should resolve the issue. If the issue persists, please let us know.
The comparison errors may mean the information is coming in formatted slightly differently. Were you able to correct the errors? Are your balances now reflecting correctly? Was it a one-time issue, or are you getting errors every time you update your accounts?
I look forward to your response!

Quicken Kristina, I used the new connection from Fidelity and it created duplicate, slightly different names, for investments in my account. I went in and manually deleted duplicate transactions, but duplicate investments still existed. I changed the price of those accounts to Zero, but they still show in my Portfolio view.
I downloaded again today and they priced themselves again and had to Zero out the duplicates again, plus created two more duplicates investments within the account?
I don't want to manually adjust every time I download! Help?
I am using Quicken Deluxe for Mac version 8.3.2

Hello @jakinchitown,
Thank you for sharing your experience. If I'm understanding correctly, the issue you're encountering is that you're getting duplicate securities, with slightly different names (which keeps Quicken from recognizing they're duplicates). If that is the case, then probably the simplest way to deal with them and keep them from returning is to merge the securities. That will tell Quicken that the slightly different names are actually the same as the existing security. For information on merging securities, please see this help article:
I hope this helps!
