Fidelity duplicating balances every download

This appears to be the same/similar issue that many others have posted about, but it's frustratingly difficult to follow the discussion threads so I'm posting myself. For me the issue is very straightforward and easy to resolve - when I download transactions Quicken inserts three placeholder transactions (one for each security I hold in my 401(k)) at February 20, 2020 (date of first activity in the account). Additionally Quicken creates new securities (again three) with mostly identical names as the existing securities, except the "new" securities are appended with non-existent ticker symbols (TDJU, TPNR, TPNS).

I'm fortunate my daily resolution for this takes less than a minute, but it's still frustrating nonetheless.

Quicken for Mac version 8.3.1 (Build 803.58866.100) on MacOS 26.0

I've had this problem in the past. I fixed it by doing the following:

    1. Go to Tools/Security List. Find your first security in your 401k and click on it.
    2. On the Security Detail View, click Edit Details (on the left side).
    3. Uncheck "Matched with online Security".
    4. Repeat this for all 3 securities.
    5. Go to Tools/Online Center.
    6. Select Fidelity Investments, then the Holdings Tab.
    7. Choose your 401k account.
    8. Click Compare to Portfolio. This should trigger the screen to allow you to match what Quicken is getting from Fidelity to the specific investments in your Quicken account.

EDIT: I just realized this is in the Mac forum. These are the steps for Windows, but hopefully things are similar in Mac.
