Need Alert when Credit card charge amount hits 10% and 30% of Credit Limit

Since charging up to 10% and 30% have an impact on your credit score, it would be great if the credit card account amount in the account list could be highlighted or, when a credit card account is opened, the user would be notified that they are above either of those two levels. Even better, like on the Reconcile page, having a heads up that the card will breach either limit in the future would be awesome. Thanks for considering….

Take a look at Tools > Alerts > Credit card limits. There you can set a dollar amount (sorry, not a percentage of the credit limit) where you will get an alert.

Yes, having that alert is good. Just thinking improving this to a passive (vs manually setting) would make good use of the computer power (vs us lazy users). Additionally, a key alert that is more than a pop-up or text in alerts would be better. Whether it be on the Dashboard, Account list, or Account page, a flag/icon or highlighted total amount once it is either one of those percentages would be a more proactive notice to then allow the user to address or just be aware. Thanks for the feedback.

I like the idea of an alert regarding credit limit usage, but why an amount vs a %. The % is important as it can affect my credit score. Would also be helpful get an alert when credit usage across all accounts exceeds a %. Again, it affects your credit score. I think a user would have to indicate which accounts to include in calculating % usage across accounts

Good comments on the idea. I still think an alert that pops up directly in the credit card account after downloading or reconciling would be ideal. As a next‑best option, Quicken could make credit use percentage easier to view by:

    • In Alerts Center → Bank → Credit Card Limits, change “Remind me at” to a percentage (%) value, and auto‑calculate the dollar amount in a new column.
    • In the Dashboard → Custom Views to allow the Credit Cards View to be added to the main Dashboard view.
    • Simplify this (new) Dashboard Credit Cards View to show each card’s Limit, current use, and the percentage used. Any account over the “Remind me at” threshold could be highlighted in yellow.

This would be another tool that strengthens Quicken’s all‑in‑one financial sheet design
