Elan Financial Services - can't activate in Quicken - CC-501 error message
Trying to activate downloading activity from Elan Financial Services (credit card bank for Fidelity Investments) I can't sign into Elan Financial Services using Quicken's "Activate One Step Update" process.
Error says:
"Oops. We're having a problem" CC-501
"What you should know
We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are facing an unknown error.
Do not contact Elan Financial Services for assistance.
They cannot fix this problem.
Please try again in a few hours. Thank you for your patience!"
I plan to try again later today.

Hello @ATLuser,
Thank you for reaching out!
The CC-501 error generally indicates that Quicken is temporarily unable to connect to the financial institution’s servers. This is most often an issue on the financial institution's end, not something you can fix manually. Please see this support article for more details.
What to do:
- Wait 24 hours, then try updating/activating again.
- If the issue persists after 24 hours, please contact Quicken Support, as they may need to review your log files to resolve the problem.
Additionally, one workaround some users have reported is deactivating the account from Elan Financial Services and reactivating it by connecting through Fidelity Investments instead of Elan Financial Services. If your card is issued for Fidelity, you may want to try setting it up under Fidelity Investments to see if that allows you to connect successfully. Please refer to this support article for deactivation and reactivation instructions.
Hope this helps!

Quicken Anja,
Your suggestion worked. You can close this Comment.
This is what I did:
Since my Fidelity Credit Card is managed by Elan Financial Services, I deactivated my Elan Financial Services Quicken download service. The Elan credit card is included (along with my brokerage account, IRA, etc.) in my overall Fidelity account.
I then deactivated my Fidelity Quicken online services and then reactivated the Fidelity online services.
The Fidelity Credit Card was included in the list of Fidelity accounts that I wanted to download, so I made sure it was selected in the reactivation process.
The Quicken downloads for the Elan Fidelity Credit Card are now working.
Thank you, so much, for your help.

After about a week of not being able to download credit card transactions from Elan the download worked flawlessly this evening. I wasn't quite prepared to turn on my Fidelity Elan account and turn off the Elan account and I'm glad I waited. It is now working.
Just one small editorial comment - after about a week of being unable to update my main credit card account, it starts to work again and there isn't any explanation of what happened or why it happened … just guesses as to what might be happening.
