Quicken not functioning except as a calculator
We're using Quicken for Windows and have been experiencing difficulties with our system. It get's stuck in a loop while performing the one step update and will not complete the task. We understand there's a "slow-up" with this however, we have allowed the program more than 2 hours to complete the update and it doesn't. This forces us to use the task manager to end the task so we can restart the program and manually add bills. Reconciling is another issue when that happens and often makes for a very long session trying to get it to work without an update.
We also have issues with scheduled transactions. The system arbitrarily changes these during every update and can throw things out of sorts by eliminating upcoming bills in our ledger while also throwing the next bill to be scheduled for entry out to the year 2037, skipping everything in the middle. We only schedule our auto entry out 186 days so we expect it to be only that duration of time. Yet, even after correcting everything, the next time we try and connect, it erases several or all of the transactions awaiting entry and pushes the date as explained above.
In addition to those issues, we cannot seem to get the system to archive transactions during a specific date. There are usually dozens of transactions that remain in the register and this creates havoc with the reconciliation process. That has our register being open to system issues all the way back to our initial purchase and start date, which happens to be July 2009. This also causes an experience where our beginning balance changed. In fact, the this last string of issues has created an opening balance correction somewhere between July 2009 and today, and I can't seem to figure it our because the amount for the opening balance matches what I have on a post it note so I can correct things.
There are more issues and usually, we uninstall and then reinstall the program. Unfortunately with this issue, the program becomes corrupted and all of the issues start to plague the use in a cascading effect until we reach the point we're at now.
We've been rather vocal about our issues and two things usually result. Ether we're completely ignored by Quicken representatives or the situation worsens. While being ignored might be the customer service practice of the 2020's, it's wrong and childish as an approach.
The other point, our issues worsening, while it is perplexing, it's not that far of a leap to wonder is anyone who shares their mind about a plethora of system issues, isn't somehow targeted by the program. Why that's not such a far leap is that, the subscriptions we pay for are controlled by the system and can be accessed individually at the base level by.
I'm willing to write those both of if we could just get the services we're paying for to work. It's the most basic expectation of any transaction where the buyer is purchasing something that performs a function. Thank you
