I have a Schwab brokerage account with checking that is represented in Quicken Windows as both an investment account and a bank account (linked checking account). When I check the holdings in the Quicken investment account, there is a substantial cash balance negative number when it should show zero. The correct amount of cash is shown in the linked checking account.
Two questions:
(1) How can I adjust the investment account cash balance to zero without throwing something else off?
(2) I think this setup of a brokerage account and linked checking account is a relic of an old version of Quicken. Newer versions just show this type of account as an investment account that can contain checking transactions. Is there a way to merge the old brokerage account and linked checking account? Or is there a way to just have one account going forward without trying to move decades of old transactions?
Thanks for your help.
