MSIClean32.exe takes forever

What is that process doing that takes so long? This is relatively new experience for me at the end of an update.

Why are you running that utility? It's normally used for uninstalling Q, not updating the program.

Quicken runs it during updates. It takes a long time to complete. I don’t want to do a back and forth. I was just asking if anyone knew why. There are other instances of it when searching here taking a long time. I wish the developers would update Quicken for windows to a 64 bit app.

I believe MSIClean32 scours all connected disc drives looking for bits and pieces of Quicken to delete. 64 bit has nothing to do with this.

64-bit programs are superior for modern computing because they can access significantly more RAM (beyond the 4GB limit of 32-bit programs) and offer improved performance, especially for memory-intensive tasks like multitasking, and running high-end software. While 32-bit programs are limited in memory access and are generally slower, they may still be used for backward compatibility with very old software or on older hardware, though most modern operating systems and software are 64-bit. [1234
This video explains the differences between 32-bit and 64-bit programs:
    Key Differences

    • Memory (RAM) Access:
      • 32-bit programs: are limited to accessing a maximum of 4 gigabytes (GB) of RAM. [13
      • 64-bit programs: can access vastly more memory, with a potential of 16 exabytes, making them ideal for demanding applications. [13456
    • Performance and Efficiency: [78
      • 64-bit programs: can handle more information per clock cycle, leading to faster execution and better overall performance, especially in memory-intensive scenarios. [17891011
      • 32-bit programs: process information in smaller chunks, which can be less efficient and slower for complex operations. [2578912
    • Speed and Registers: [578
      • 64-bit processors and programs: have more and wider internal registers, allowing them to process more data in a single operation, which saves instructions and increases speed. [5789
      • 32-bit programs: have fewer and narrower registers, which requires more operations for the same amount of data. [91314
    • Application Compatibility:
      • 64-bit systems: can usually run 32-bit applications, but not all 32-bit systems can run 64-bit applications. [12
      • For the most efficient performance and access to all available system resources, it's best to use 64-bit versions of software on a 64-bit operating system and hardware. [215

When You Might Still Use 32-bit

    • Legacy Software: Some older applications were developed before 64-bit computing became prevalent and may only be available in 32-bit versions. [41617
    • Limited Hardware: Running 32-bit software on an older 32-bit operating system or on hardware with limited capabilities. [24

Exactly. There is no hope for 64 bit QWin.

I don’t understand why. [Removed-Rant] I will never use an online version of Quicken for security reasons.
