How to find memo fields that start with a given text pattern (Q Win)

I would like to be able to create a Transaction Report of all transactions in a specific date range that have a memo field starting with a given text string.

For example, all transactions from Jan to Aug that have a memo fields starting with the text "abc".

I remember, from long ago, that you could to do this in the Mac version of Quicken. As I recall you would use the caret character to represent "starts with", e.g. "^abc".

I know Find & Replace has a "start with" option but I cannot seem to find a way to accomplish this when creating a Transaction Report. Anyone have any ideas?

I am using the latest version of Windows Quicken Classic Business & Personal.

Set the date range you want.

Click on the gear to customize the report.

On the Categories tab, next to Memo contains: enter the starting text followed by 2 dots, like abc..

One thing you could also do is just sort the Register or All Transactions by the memo field. Then highlight the transactions for the dates you want. I tried printing the selected transactions but didn't see how in my Quicken 2013.

Those pattern masks may not have existed in Q 2013.

Try running an Edit / Find/Replace instead using [Memo] [starts with] [abc]
