My BNY Pershing connection has stopped working.

My connection to BNY Pershing has stopped working for the last couple of months. I have tried reseting it and deactivating it and using the current username and passwords but it never works. Has anything changed with them?

When I try to go through the online setup and enter the username and password it simply reports back with "We encountered an error while connecting to your bank". See attached picture of the error.

Looking at the error message you attached, I suspect there may be some additional authorization required on the financial institution side in order to connect.
Have you tried following the directions in the error message, and navigating to the Settings page on the financial institution's website to verify your device and link to Quicken?

I have the same issue. It involved 8 separate BNY/Pershing accounts. Following the above directions for all 8 solved the connection problem for 7 of them. One, however, remains unresponsive even though the credentials are correct and the Quicken device is the same for all of them and is verified on all 8.

I had to log in to the Netx site and approve the connection, and now it works. Rather troubling to see that the connection expires in two months, so I'm going to have to go through this process again, and again, and again.

ANSWER: 3 October 2025, BNY|Pershing updated Quicken Direct Login to incorporate MFA. Investors will need to go to the Pershing account money holders, NetXInvestor account. On your Profile, go to Security Settings and you'll see a Quicken section to approve Quicken's access for 60 days (after which you'll apparently need to re-authorize it).
I too could not connect since early October, but advisor sent me the info … and it works.
