Fidelity migration from Direct Connect to EWC+ questions

Two questions:

  1. What was the reason for the migration and was Fidelity or Quicken the driving force?
  2. Why did you not wait until all (or most) of the problems were fixed before forcing everyone to migrate to EWC+.

Can we have the option to go back to Direct Connect while the problems are being worked on?

    Hello @jersey42,

Thank you for your questions regarding the Fidelity migration to Express Web Connect+. Here’s some clarification:

    1. Reason for the migration / who drove it:
The migration from Direct Connect to Express Web Connect+ was initiated to modernize and standardize the connection method between financial institutions and Quicken. This allows for improved security, stability, and scalability. Both Quicken and participating institutions like Fidelity were involved in planning the migration, with the goal of providing a more reliable connection over the long term.
    2. Why the migration wasn’t delayed until all issues were fixed:
The transition to Express Web Connect+ was rolled out to ensure all users eventually had the more secure and supported connection. While we understand there have been some issues during the early rollout, the migration needed to happen in phases to maintain compliance with bank requirements and to gradually move all users to the supported platform.
    3. Option to go back to Direct Connect:
Once an account has been migrated to Express Web Connect+, it is not possible to revert back to Direct Connect. The Express Web Connect+ connection is now the supported method for these accounts.

We understand that some users have experienced difficulties during the transition, and the team continues to work on resolving any remaining issues.

    Hope this helps!
