Can't activate Fidelity accounts after EWC+ transition
I have been struggling for the last couple of days after I attempted to migrate my existing Fidelity accounts from Direct Connect to EWC+. I have restored from backup several times and tried various methods to set up my accounts.
I always end up with this situation: When I look at the Accounts List, some of my accounts show the Financial Institution as Fidelity Investments. Those accounts appear to be connecting and are downloading transactions. Some of my accounts show the Financial Institution as zzz-Fidelity Investments DC. Those accounts show up under Online Services as "Set up Now". When I try to set up these accounts, the final screen shows "Do not add to Quicken" and it's not possible to set them up.
Does anybody know how to fix this? Is there a way to change the Financial Institution from zzz-Fidelity Investments DC to Fidelity Investments?

Hello @Woodsey,
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am happy to help.
Usually, when you see "Do not add to Quicken" in that final screen, it just indicates that the accounts are already connected in Quicken and, therefore, don't need to be added. In your case, it sounds like those accounts are still connected to the zzz-Fidelity instance you described.
What you will need to do to resolve this is deactivate those accounts that are showing zzz-Fidelity as the financial institution, and then reconnect them using the Fidelity Investments instance.
Let me know how it goes.
Thank you!

I've deactivated all of the accounts that are associated with "Fidelity Investments", and I removed Fidelity Investments as the Financial Institution from the Account Details screen. That worked for all accounts except for the 2 accounts that I'm having the problem with. Those 2 accounts show up as not activated on the Account List, but I'm not able to remove Fidelity Investments as the Financial Institution.
When I try to activate those 2 accounts, the only option I'm offered is to treat them as Checking accounts. It seems that they are stuck, and I can't find a way to fix them.1 -
Yes, I'm having this same issue with my bank but on all accounts. I only have the option to add the accounts as manual, cash accounts.

Thank you for following up with additional details.
Please save a backup, and then validate your file.
To do this:
- Go to File.
- Select Validate and Repair file…
- Check the first box for Validate file.
- Click Ok.
Once that is done, close Quicken. Wait a few seconds and reopen it. Check to see if the financial institution information is still stuck on those two accounts.
As far as the accounts coming in as checking accounts, what types of accounts are these?
Thank you for adding to this discussion. Are your accounts through Fidelity? If so, what types of accounts are these? Are you using the Fidelity Investments instance in Quicken to add these accounts?
Looking forward to your responses.
