Quicken not clearing the correct bank transactions
Since about the first of this year, using Deluxe on Win 11, I have been getting "balance correction" amounts when I reconcile my downloads in my bank register. At first, it was just a few dollars and cents. Recently, I have had some large balance adjustments from $500 to $1400. Couldn't figure out what was going on until I had two transactions, $24.14 and $1465.00, just one day apart. When I downloaded the update, it cleared the $24.14 transaction, but not the $1465.00 transaction, which then required a $1440.86 balance adjustment when I tried to reconcile the account. Since the transactions were so close together, I cleared the $1465.00 transaction and uncleared the $24.14 transaction. BINGO!! Quicken was clearing out the wrong transaction for some reason. I verified this by going to the bank site to see what was cleared. Apparently, this has been going on for some time, requiring me to insert balance adjustments into my register. Any Ideas??

A bit more info needed.
Please do TOOLS, Account List and tell us: the Financial Institution name as shown for the account, what's in the "Transaction Download" column and the "Last Download" column for the account.
Also, do HELP, About Quicken and tell us the RELEASE that's shown for your product.

Hello @WJMT001,
Thank you for sharing your experience and following up with more information.
I am not sure what you mean when you say that Quicken did not clear one of these transactions, and the issue was resolved once you cleared it, and uncleared another. Please provide more information.
- Does that mean the transaction downloaded into your register as uncleared?
- Or does it mean that one of the transactions didn't download the first time you updated the account?
- Are you manually entering these transactions before they download?
- Where is your file located?
- Is your file being synced/backed up by any third-party services like OneDrive, Dropbox, or Carbonite?
Looking forward to your response.

The larger transaction was not downloaded and the smaller transaction downloaded as cleared. This resulted in the " balance correction" when I tried to reconcile the account. When I reversed the two transactions the reconcile amount was then zero. I do manually enter the transactions as they are paid. When going on Bank site the larger transaction was cleared on their site and the smaller one was uncleared.
The file is located on my external hard drive and is updated every time Quicken suggests backing the file up.
I do not use any third party sites.

Thank you for following up!
Can I have you move your file? The default location is C:>Users>username>Documents>Quicken. We recommend keeping the data file you are actively working on in this location to prevent possible damage to the file.
I would recommend some advanced data file troubleshooting steps, but given the latest information you shared, I think it would be best for you to contact Quicken Support directly so they can gather more information from you and determine how these transactions are being sent to Quicken.
Let me know how it goes.
