Receiving Error CC-501 repeatedly for over a week--First Citizens Bank

I am trying to activate my account at First Citizens Bank. I've tried numerous times and continue to receive Error CC-501. Please note, I've had this account connected for over a year and it just stopped downloading transactions mid-October. I have successfully activated many credit cards without issue.

    Hello @rbalkman48,

Thanks for the details, and I’m sorry you’ve been running into this for so long. Error CC-501 indicates that Quicken is being blocked from connecting to the bank’s servers — this is almost always an issue on the bank’s end rather than anything wrong in your file.

Please review this CC-501 support article for reference, but here’s a quick overview:

    What to do:

    • Please wait 24 hours and try updating again.
    • If the error continues afterward, the next step is to contact Quicken Support. This specific error often requires a support agent to review your logs and escalate the issue so it can be corrected.

    Thank you!

I have also had the same problem. It was working fine and now it is not. The error message says not to call the bank. Why can't support figure out what the problem is and fix it?

Also, I am wondering if there was a security breach at FCB in October.

    Hello @gaperri,

Thanks for sharing your experience. As with @rbalkman48, this type of CC‑501 error typically happens when Quicken is blocked from connecting to the bank, which is usually something on the bank’s end. Our Quicken Support team can review your logs and escalate the issue if it persists, which is the best way to help get it resolved.

At this time, we are unaware of a security breach; it’s most often just a connection issue between Quicken and the bank.

    Thank you!
