Using Quicken Premiere Windows

Every morning, I download transactions and current security prices. When I hold an equity option, the price for the prior day isn’t updated to the closing price. I have to manually copy the price for the current day (pre-market) and paste it into the prior day. Can someone explain how option prices are handled in a One Step Update?

Thank you for reaching out! According to our help article, exchange traded options are updated once a day after market closing. Do the options have a valid ticker symbol in Quicken? Did that ticker recently change? Is this happening with one specific financial institution, or multiple?

yes the ticker is valid and hasn’t changed, I only have one financial institution with an option so don’t know. The price does update but since I don’t download until the next morning and it seems Quicken puts the price in the current day and leaves the price of the previous day unchanged so eventually the price is always one day ahead of what it should be. So every morning after downloading I manually copy and paste the price into yesterday. I know this sound confusing. Maybe if I downloaded prices sometime after market close it would record into the proper day. But how long after market close does the option price get updated?

Our documentation doesn't specify an exact time. It just says that they are updated each evening after the market closes.

If you are wanting to test downloading in the evening, to see if it makes any difference, I'd recommend waiting until about an hour after market close (if possible).

If the issue persists, then I recommend contacting Quicken Support directly for further assistance, as they have access to tools we can't access on the Community and they are able to escalate the issue as needed.
