failed update and failed transaction download

This morning when I started my work, quicken offered me an update, which I accepted. It failed, which has not happened before. Now, I cannot download my transactions from my bank, which I usually do every day. The error message says I have some parts of Quicken that are open and need to be uninstalled. What happens if I uninstall Quicken and then re-install it? Will I lose all my data?

I had this same issue when I first updated to R65.15. What I did to fix the issue was to uninstall Quicken and then download and install a fresh copy of Quicken from https://www.quicken.com/activate . Alternately, you can log into your Quicken.com online account and download and install the file from there which will be automatically activated upon installation.

Uninstalling Quicken will not delete your data file so you will not lose anything in your current data file. When you reinstall Quicken you will be given the opportunity to link your current data file to your new Quicken installation.
