UPDATE: Nov 29 2025 PEFCU ( Publix Employees Credit Union ) One Step update issues
I had been told PEFCU no longer supports One Step Update and only QIF which is ridiculously old and limited. On my main accounts I deactivated the online connect info because it kept having error. However, on 1 of my daughters accounts I had only unchecked the updates. Today I clicked to update transcations just because. To my surprise it worked and downloaded 6 months of transactions.
I was very surprised it worked. However, when I tried to reactivate mine it still fails and only shows Publix.org not PEFCU.com. When I look at hers the financial institution is listed as unknown.
Has anyone else had the same thing happen? Anyone else had any success downloading via one step update? I don't know how it works on 1 account but none of my others or why it is working at all?
Please help

Hello @Ghalelowe,
Thank you for sharing your experience. It does not not look like PEFCU is currently supported. There aren't any connection options for PEFCU in Quicken for Windows. I checked the FIDIR (list of supported financial institutions), and do not see PEFCU.com listed.
You mentioned that one of your daughters' accounts did update, even though the financial institution shows as unknown. Was the information that downloaded correct? If it is, then I suspect what may have happened is that, even though the financial institution no longer supports Quicken, the server still exists and isn't set up to block the connection, which may be allowing accounts that were never disconnected to be able to connect and update. However, since it's not supported, it could stop working at any time (for example, if the financial institution changes something on their end).
If that is what happened, you might be able to restore a backup from when PEFCU was still supported, and test if your PEFCU accounts are able to update in that restored file. Please keep in mind that, depending on how old the file is, it may take a lot of work to get the file current, and there is no guarantee that an unsupported connection will continue to work.
If the information downloading is incorrect, then it's possible that the account is connected, but connected to an incorrect financial institution and downloading information for a different account.
I hope this helps!
