Lost files after Computer Repair (Q Mac)
My MacBook Air stopped working about 2 weeks ago, and ultimately needed a new logic board. I opened the laptop today, and just about all of my files that I save in iCloud were there, except Quicken. I have a subscription, but I cannot find my current file. I can only file one from 2018, before I stated using the laptop. I did fine the Quicken folder in hidden files, but the backup file is empty. How did Quicken open every day if the file wasn't saved somewhere on my computer? I believe that I am using Quicken Classic for Mac.
Thanks for any advice. I can't believe I will have to rebuild an entire year of transactions.

Quicken Mac by default stores files in the hidden Library folder. Many of us move our files into our visible Documents folder for just the reason you've discovered… plus, in my case, I back up my Documents folder to OneDrive or other cloud storage… but I don't do that with the huge Library folder. No doubt your Library folder was not copied to iCloud… but if it was, you're in luck.
Years ago, you could just go to the Library folder. Now, launch Finder - then press and hold down the option key on your keyboard while you click with your mouse on the "Go" menu … and then select Library. (It will only appear in the Go menu when the option key is depressed.)
Now, go to Library > Application Support > Quicken and with any luck you will find your file in Documents, or a backup in Backups.

Thank you. Sadly, it is not to be found in Library etc.

No external Time Machine backup drives?

Are you saying that your Quicken data file was saved in iCloud? Or that files you saved in iCloud were available, but Quicken wasn't because it was not store in iCloud?
It seems unclear why a swapped logic board would result in any lost files. Was the hard drive (solid state memory) replaced?
