I don't even use Cloud…

Constantly fighting split transaction getting changed to have an extra line, changing the total (reconciled amount) so that the register balance no longer is accurate.

Finding the transaction(s) that are corrupted is a nightmare. It has an uncategorized amount added as a last line. It does not show up if I search for transactions (bank report) with uncategorized amounts.

I've asked customer service if there is an easy way to find a split transaction that has an uncategorized amount added to it. Answer is no.

Thank you for sharing your experience! To help troubleshoot, please provide more information. I can see you contacted Support on 2 October 2025. Is that when you first noticed the issue? If not, when did you first notice this problem? Do you keep your Quicken file directly on your local hard drive? Is it synced with any cloud services, such as Dropbox, iCloud, or OneDrive? Is there anything that seems to trigger this behavior, such as running One Step Update or closing and reopening your Quicken file?

You mentioned that you've been manually correcting these broken splits, when you find them. Are the same transactions breaking every time, or is it different transactions each time? Is this behavior limited to one account, or are you seeing it across multiple accounts? Are the accounts where this is happening accounts that you manually update, or accounts that are updated via One Step Update?

Based on the notes from your contact with Support, you have already validated your file, just in case there was a file damage issue causing the problem. Have you tried restoring a backup from before the issue started, and tested to see if the issue was resolved in the newly restored file?
