Categorize a transfer without breaking the transfer [Edited]

How do I categorize a transaction in account A that is linked to an identical transaction in account B without automatically severing the link between the two transactions and deleting to transaction in account B?

    Hello @mtakwax,

    Thank you for reaching out with this question! If I'm understanding correctly, you have a transfer between account A and account B, and you want to change the category in account A, but don't want to break the link and cause the transaction to vanish from account B. Unfortunately, in Quicken for Windows, that can't be done.

    You are able to use memos, notes, and tags to further mark transactions though. Depending on your use case, one of those should allow you to add extra information to the transaction in account A, if needed.
