Holding missing from portfolio

I am using Quicken Classic for Mac Premier v 8.3.3. In the portfolio tab, after updating the account, all of my holdings are listed correctly except for one, which is missing. I added the security in the transaction tab but the security still does not appear in the portfolio. Can you advise?

You added a new security in a manually entered transaction but you have the account set to download from your financial institution? If the financial institution isn't reporting this holding, then Quicken likely inserted a placeholder transaction to cancel out your manual entry. Open your transactions tab do a Search for the security to see if you see your manual entry and the offsetting placeholder entry Quicken inserted. The next question I'd have is why you are adding this holding manually if your brokerage isn't reporting it to Quicken?

Thank you. I have checked the transaction register and there is no offsetting placeholder entry that has been made by Quicken, so I think that my entry should result in the security being shown in the portfolio. Transactions in this holding have been reported by my financial institution in the past and I am not aware of any reason the reporting should have been discontinued. My manual entry was an attempt to "force" the security to appear. Separately, I checked the Window>Securities menu and the HIDDEN box for this security is not checked, so that is not causing the security to be hidden. I wonder whether there is some other setting in Quicken that is causing the security to not appear in the portfolio view.
