Quicken Home and Business nearly lost me to Quickbooks today…
I spent about 5 hours today with chat/support because there is no Canadian help. Things that should be displayed are hidden. Things that should be connected are not. Finding and fixing these things is not intuitive. I have been using Quicken for decades, so it’s not that I’m unfamiliar with the product. The Business version is just poorly set up for Canada. The guy at support is the only thing that saved it, he did a lot of research on something he was not familiar with.
So I thought I’d use the mobile apply tonight to enter some more invoices, only to discover I can’t do that either. This is supposed to make my life easier, so far, it’s a fail.

Unless you get specific about issues, and the problems that you're experiencing, the other users on this forum can't help much.
As is, your post isn't much more than a gripe session.

I’d consider it more of a review. It’s not viable for an actual, small company with payroll and taxes. I’ve spent another several hours today and I managed to get invoices in and taxed correctly (now that the hidden items have been made visible). Tried to set up payroll and it’s another failure. I was hoping to not have to buy another product, but it looks like I’m going to have to. I already know there is no support from Quicken Canada and I’m not up to doing another wait and see game.

For a small company, you should look at something like QuickBooks. Quicken Home and Business is more geared for someone who is self-employed or running a small web business or craft business. Especially for the Canadian product, because the Canadian features are generally not well implemented. For example, I advise not to use the RRSP account for investments because there are problems with it. Simply use the Brokerage account instead. Bottom line is that the investment in making the Canadian product Canadian went about as far as required for marketing purposes. That being said, I still believe it is the best personal finance management tool on the market for Canadians… but, it could be better.
