Add an option to this text based filter of "Through 15th of Month" & "Through Last Day of Month" to coincide with typical salaried income/pay dates to more easily manage bills between income cycles.

Add a Custom Dates filter also to be able to specify a start & end date range.

@TML2026 I'm trying to understand your request, so perhaps you can clarify further with some examples.

You can currently schedule pay dates on the 15th and last day of a month, or the 15th and 31st, or the second and 4th Fridays of a month, and lots of other permutations. What are you wanting to schedule that you're finding you can't with th current settings?

Or are you talking not about scheduling transactions, but viewing them in the Bils & Income screen? In addition to the 7/14/30/60… day filters, you can also select "Next Instance", which would show your next scheduled pay transaction whenever it falls. And the Next 30 Days filter would presumably show the next two pay dates. What are you wanting to be able to see here that you can't with the current filters?

More details will help fellow Mac users understand and vote for the Idea if they agree, and provide clarity to the developers if the Idea gathers enough votes to reach them.

@jacobs I think they’re talking about viewing upcoming bills, not scheduling them. One thing that option would do is show them the bills that are due before the next paycheck, ie what bills does the current cash on hand have to cover.

@Jon So are you talking about the Projected Balances tab? How does a filter of Next 14 Days or Next 30 Days not show in the graph what you're describing? The graph would show the balance in the account declining over time as payments are due, and increasing when the next paycheck is due.

Or are you're talking about the Bills tab? That doesn't give you a balance to know if or when you'll run out of money, but if it's sorted by the Due date column, and the filter is set for Next 14 Days or Next 30 Days, it shows the upcoming payments through the next one or two pay periods. So I'm still not understanding where a "Through 15th of Month" filter would be more helpful than what's available now.

(I don't use this screen a lot, so my apologies that I'm obviously missing something in trying to understand.)

I would assume this change would apply to both the Bills tab and the Projected Income tab; I don't know which one OP was thinking of specifically.

Next 14 Days is always showing 14 days ahead regardless of where the paycheck is. If it's currently the 10th, Next 14 Days will show bills up through the 24th, so I'll be seeing bills due both before and after my paycheck on the 15th.

But I'm not sure why OPs paycheck dates of the 15th and 31st should be privileged over anyone elses. I got paid every other Thursday & there's no way to set up either tab to only show bills/balances up through next Thursday, or a week from next Thursday. To make this work for every possible paycheck schedule would be a challenge.

I also got paid biweekly; I just set my scheduled transactions to show the next 30 days, which meant I would always be seeing bills and income through the next paycheck and beyond. With the Bills & Income screen sorted by due date, it's easy to see all bills due up through the next paycheck; on the Balances tab, the graph clearly shows the running balance as those bills hit up to an past the next paycheck.

Not asking for any privileges, just more simple filtering options that really could easily be added. I just dont necessarily want to see bills past outside of the income cycle. Being an application developer myself, since the other text based options are there already, this would be about 4-8 hours of work to add these options, document them, add unit and functional test cases for, etc.

Nobody mentioned the custom dates filter option to be able to specify a start & end date range. Thoughts on that one?
