Recurring Transfers

I initiated recurring transfers between two checking accounts at the same bank (Huntington, no error messages), starting 4/15/25. When I download my Quicken (I'm on Quicken Windows 11 Home, version R65.29) transactions for this bank, I'm showing one withdrawal from the correct account, a deposit into the correct second account, but also an additional deposit into a third, incorrect account. The balances on the bank's website are accurate, but the balances of my accounts in Quicken are inflated for that erroneous third account.

I went in this morning and deleted the transactions from the incorrect account, but it also deleted the matching transactions from the initiating withdrawal account and the receiving deposit account. So now 2 of 3 accounts have incorrect balances in quicken.

I set up the recurring transfer on my bank's online portal back in April 2025 but deleted the recurrence effective today, so errors will not continue to accumulate. I'd like to restart this but want to avoid getting back into the same situation.

Would anybody have any ideas why this would be happening? In the incorrect account, there is a red alert that says I manually entered the transaction into this account, but I never manually enter anything - just rely on the One Step Download to pull all my transactions.

My first guess would be that you set up the Memorized Transaction incorrectly … directing it into the erroneous account instead of the correct account.

And, a transfer is really a single transaction between 2 accounts … which is why deleting one side of it also deletes the other, originating, side. What you should have done instead is to EDIT the originating side to point it (via the category field) to the correct account … which would have eliminated the deposit into the incorrect account and created it in the correct account.
