Hide Grand Total for privacy (Q Mac)

There are many times a person would like to talk to a relative or friend regarding quicken without having to share their total net worth. The problem is if I try to find a transaction from the "ALL Transactions" tab in the account list, as soon as I click the "all Transactions" tab , my total net worth flashes on the top right corner of my screen.

Quicken developers thought about this privacy issue because they gave the option of hiding the total account value from the bottom of the account list. How ever what good does it do to hide a small font number when you have a big bold number a the top right that we cannot hide?!?!?!

Please fix this soon since it is obviously something you missed when you gave the option of hiding the small font account total.

I would love to show people how Quicken works but not if you are going to force me to reveal my total net worth.

Thank you.😎

I agree, I just came looking for a solution to this as I just had a friend visit and realized my net worth was visible on my computer screen. If Quicken is looking for a solution, either provide an option to hide it, or having a "click to toggle seeing net worth" option would be great.

Also, I don't need to sit there and obsess over my net worth by seeing it everytime I enter Quicken (and I don't think it's healthy).

    Thank you!

@CharlieB777 You can turn off the display of your total account value in the sidebar, which is where you’re going to be seeing it most of the time. This idea is specifically about turning it off in the All Transactions register, which I don’t think is a place most Quicken users spend much time.

@Jon But it's at the top of every register, not just All Transactions. If you want to show a friend how you use Quicken, or if you want to share some information with a parent or child, but don't want them to know how much money you have in your checking account or brokerage/retirement account, it would be useful to have a way to toggle on or off the big register Balance or Market Value on the upper right of register screen.

This could be implemented as a global setting, turning it off (temporarily) for all registers, or it could be implemented by adding to the current pulldown options — View Today's Balance, View Projected Balance, View Online Balance — one more option to "Hide Balance". This seems like it might be an easy UI change for the developers to make.

@jacobs I agree if they're going to implement something like this it would make sense to do it for all registers. But the posters above are specifically complaining about their net worth being visible, not individual account balances, so that was what I addressed in my reply.

@Jon We're on the same page. He was wanting to be able to show someone Quicken; I broadened it to something which could be applied globally (a preference/setting) or per-register in the drop-down menu on the upper right. I think if they were to implement a hide balance option for just the All Transactions register, other users would shortly ask for that option on other registers as well.
