Average Cost Per Share Discrepancy

I have 27 securities in my investment portfolio.  3 of the securities are showing average cost per share that is grossly understated so impacts tracking on gain/loss calculations.  I've rechecked the transactions and there are no incorrect entries.  These are new securities recently purchased so there are no hidden placeholders or other visible problems with transaction entries.  I even pulled up a backup prior to their entry and recreated the transactions and no change.  The other 24 securities seem to be correct and are not affected.  I also did a validate and repair and nothing changed.  Is there a way to adjust the cost per share for situations like this? The 3 Security symbols affected are CTEF, ROKT, and RING.

Appreciate your help to troubleshoot and resolve.

Where and how are you seeing thes cost basis values? Security Details always shows for all accounts. Portfolio views show for selected accounts.

Have you owned the securities in this account or others before? Their prior cost basis may not have been closed out correctly or may have gotten corrupted. If previously owned, portfolio views can be set to “Show closed lots” that may be helpful.

You are citing a problem with “Average cost per share”. More fundamental is the holdings cost basis. Is that correct? Do you know how to view it by lot?

The 3 that you cite are all ETFs. Do you hold other ETF's, or only these 3, and the only 3 with the problem?

And, I just took a look at the Portfolio view in my Q. For the only security that I checked, the Avg cost/sh in the Portfolio View is calculated as the Cost Basis divided by the number of shares.

BUT, if I right click on that security and click Security View, the Avg Cost /sh is 2.5 times a much.

THEN, I took another look at the Security View and realized that it was including ALL of my holdings of that security … and when I added both Cost basis numbers and divided by the sum of the shares … the number in the Security View agreed with the prior calculations.

SO, @tkstaple exactly where are you seeing the discrepancy, and do you hold these securities in multiple accounts?

Thank you for your comment. I'm seeing it in the investment tab under value view that shows cost per share, total gain/loss, total gain/loss%. In the drop down under each security I can see each transaction cost, gain/loss, gain/loss% for each transaction and they don't add up to the totals on the upper total line item for the security. I've looked at them in the security view and there is nothing there with any past transactions that are in error. It's strangely happening with only 3 of 27 all of which securities I have owned previously and sold out completely and then starting to repurchase. I recreated the file from a backup that had no issues and still received the same issue with only the 3 securities. When I closed out the securities there did not appear to be any residual issue. I did view in "show closed lots" and nothing suspect there. The summary line total does not reflect the total for each purchase but only for these 3 securities.

I have 25 ETF's and 2 stocks at the moment in the Portfolio. No problems with any others.

Unless you created it, there's not a "Value" view under the Investing tab. Perhaps do you mean Portfolio?

I have had this view for years, so I don't recall if I created it. I have modified it in the past. Here is what I'm seeing for CTEF. The cost basis total should be $522.58 but it is adding it to total $382.12.
