Truly honor the windows short date format

I want to display the day-of-week on my task bar. I discovered this is done by adding 'ddd' to the front of the Windows short date format.
Unfortunately, this changes the way Quicken displays dates in the register from mm/dd/yyyy to ddmmyyyy. This format is basically 'unreadable'.
By the way, I don't recall having this issue with Windows 10.

@nhmartens This sounds like a suggestion for Quicken Windows, could you confirm? Because if it is it's in the wrong place & I can have one of the moderators move it over to one of the QWin Idea forums.
