Quicken Crashing When I attempt to open Any account RE: Update 2/27/2026

Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. To clarify, you posted to the Quicken on the Web section of the Community. Are you seeing this issue in Quicken on the Web, or in the desktop version of Quicken?
If the issue is happening in the desktop version of Quicken, please follow these steps based on our article on when you encounter problems after the program updates:
Restart your computer.
- Right-click the Start button.
- Select Shut down or sign out, then Restart.
If this doesn't resolve the issue, continue to the next step.
Try reinstalling the update patch.
You can find and download the update patch here.
After installing the patch, restart your computer.
If installing the patch doesn't resolve the issue, continue to the next step.
Try restoring and validating a backup.
- There may be an issue with the data file that's causing it to crash. Follow these steps to Restore a backup file.
- Then, Validate the restored backup file by going to File > Validate and Repair File.
- Check Validate file and click OK.
Remove and reinstall Quicken
- Follow the instructions in this FAQ: How do I uninstall Quicken for Windows?
- Before reinstalling Quicken, ensure your anti-virus and firewall are disabled.
- Reinstall Quicken. See this article for instructions:
- Reactivate your anti-virus/firewall.
