Why is manual transaction match unavailable for investment accounts

I have had a minor issue with a transfer reminder in one of my investment accounts. At the first of every month I transfer money from the investment account to a checking account. I have a Quicken reminder that enters a transaction on the 2nd of each month. Every few months the actual transaction occurs earlier and Quicken does not recognize the match. It would be nice if I could manually match the transaction as I can do in checking and credit accounts. The annoyance is that if I change the date of the transaction then it disappears from the bill and income reminders which I like to retain. Of course there are work arounds like changing the reminder date but I am curious about the inability to manually match transactions in an investment account.

You are right, the dates of investment transactions in the register must match must match downloaded dates exactly, rather than the 15 days earlier to 1 day later match criterion for banking transactions. I think this is because for transactions like Bought and Sold, the date is important.

But for me, changing the date of the transaction in the register to match the date in the downloaded transactions area makes it show as Matched, and then I can accept the downloaded transaction. Does that not work for you?

I accept Reminders and review each downloaded transaction before accepting it, I do not have the "Automatically accept" option selected for the downloaded transactions.

I also do not use "automatically accept." Yes I changing the date works, but then Quicken removes the transaction from "bill and income reminders." This month the actual transaction was downloaded on 2/27 so I waited until today (3/2) to accept the match. That works and leaves the transaction in the bill and income window. Going forward I will just be patient and wait until Quicken recognizes the match.

Your bought/sold date argument is reasonable.
