For the past few weeks, I have been unable to open Bills & Income, as Quicken freezes everytime I try to access it.
Hello @Toddrg,
Thanks for reaching out to tell us about this issue!
To better assist you, could you please provide the following details?
Your answers will help us diagnose the issue more effectively.
Looking forward to your response!
It is stored on One Drive, but set to always be on my PC>
I have restarted my PC and reoaded Quicken
No significant changes
@Toddrg Thank you for the additional details!
Since your data file is stored in OneDrive, even with the “always keep on this device” setting enabled, this could still be contributing to the issue. We’ve seen cases where Quicken files stored or synced through cloud services (like OneDrive, Dropbox, etc.) can lead to freezing, lag, or unexpected behavior—especially in areas like Bills & Income.
As a next step, we recommend trying the following:
This helps rule out any interference from the sync process.
If the issue persists after moving the file locally, please let us know and we can continue troubleshooting further.
Thank you!
I copied my Quicken file to a local folder and the issue went away. Now I'm stuck not getting the file backed up on one drive.
@Toddrg You can create a backup of your data file from within Quicken either automatically or manually. These backups can be directed to the OneDrive folder to be backed up to the cloud.
You just can't have your active data file on OneDrive.
Thanks for the update, @Toddrg! Glad to hear moving the file locally resolved the issue.
I also agree with @UserDavidC —while your active Quicken file shouldn’t reside on OneDrive, you can still back it up to your OneDrive folder either manually or automatically.
Additionally, you can also use Quicken’s automatic backup feature. For more info on this, please see this support article.
Hope this helps!
