Ability to add Portfolio Value report information to Dashboard [Edited]
Thanks for the Portfolio Value report. It would be great if one could take the securities in a Portfolio Value and load them into a (the) Dashboard display.
Many investors have different meaningful portfolios spread across their investment accounts. The Portfolio Value report allows one to see those portfolios broken out. Having the ability to load a Portfolio Value report into the Dashboard, allows one to analyze each portfolio separately - which is a major capability of financial software. This would save lots of time now spent doing this manually.
Thanks

@barryi Just to understand your request, what are you looking for in an investing Dashboard card that is different from what's in a default or saved custom Portfolio Value report?
Also, are you aware there is a separate set of Dashboard cards for investment accounts, which are NOT in the Home > Dashboards area? When you click on one investment account, or one of the subgroups like Brokerage or Retirement, or the main Investing group, near the top of the screen there is a row of tabs for Dashboard, Portfolio, Transactions and Watchlist. When you click on Dashboard, the Holdings card has the same information (security, shares held, price, market value) as the Portfolio Value report. Because this exists, I'm wondering what new you are requesting here?
(Note: I believe the development team has plans to move or implement the investing holdings card in the Home Dashboard screen, so you don't have to look for it in this separate location. As you're aware, features in Quicken are developed over many years, and the Investment Dashboard was developed years before the Home Dashboard. The Home Dashboard was developed with newer programming technology, and has newer features, such as allowing users to customize which accounts to include, and to create duplicate dashboard cards with different settings. At some point — who knows where this fits on the developers' overcrowded priority list? — they plan to re-write the investment holdings Dashboard card for the Home Dashboard screen. Aside from putting it in the same place, this would presumably allow you to have a security holdings card for just brokerage accounts and another for retirement accounts or accounts you select.)

Yes I am aware of the separate Dashboard tabs on each investment account. So consider my request to be:
Add a Dashboard tab to the new Portfolio Value Report.
The reason for the request is the same reason we needed the Portfolio Value Report: investment accounts do not (necessarily) align with actual investment portfolios. For example, my wife and I have several investment accounts in Quicken. While we have several accounts, our investment strategy has only three portfolios: Long Term, Medium Term, and Short Term (Vanguard enthusiasts will recognize these as Bucket Portfolios). The make-up of these portfolios come from the many securities across the multiple investment accounts. Finally I can now create three different Portfolio Value reports for LT, MT, and ST. With the Dashboard Tab request, investors can analyze each portfolio, especially valuable for asset allocation.
Prior to the Portfolio Value Report I had to export the total Investing Portfolio view (on sidebar) to a spreadsheet that separated out LT, MT, and ST, and then do the analysis with web resources. The recent enhancement has saved a step, but the Dashboard Tab request would provide a one-stop investment tool! I think that would be a big win for Quicken.
(BTW, my discussion here is the Dashboard Tab on investments, not the Home Dashboard.)

Got it. If I understand you correctly, what you want is to be able to manually select which Securities appear in the Investment Holdings card, so you could make the dashboard mimic that selection criterion in the new Portfolio Value report. And you could have multiple such cards, which would allow you to track each of your different investment buckets. Is that correct? (There is no such thing as adding a Dashboard to a report; Dashboards are separate reporting tools which live on the Dashboard tab for both Home and Investments, and I don't think that will change.)
My explanation about the Home versus Investment dashboards is central to that request, though. The investment dashboards were created years ago, using technology which Quicken no longe ruses for development. So enhancing or adding additional investment dashboards apparently requires them to be re-created in the current development coding environment, which would then allow them to add selection options as they have done in the Home dashboard cards, as well as having multiples of the same card with different selection criteria.
I also expect that now that the first-ever investment reports have been built, the developers plan to add more investment reports. One I would expect would be an asset allocation report. That might allow you to construct a different report for each of your investment buckets, in order to see the asset allocation within each bucket.

Yes you understand. I am trying to describe a new feature, not specify an implementation.
An asset allocation report would be great as long it allowed you to edit accounts and securities like the Portfolio Value Report does.👍️
A report is better than a Home card because you cannot export the data in a card. It is useful to export a report.
