ATM Withdrawal being recorded as an uncashed check for the same amount
If I have recorded a $100 check in my register and before it has been cashed I make a $100 ATM withdrawal, Quicken identifies it as the check and not the ATM withdrawal in the download.
This has caused confusion several times.

Are you saying that Quicken automatically matched the $100 manual entry with the downloaded $100 entry, even though they were not the same? This can happen if the amount is the same and the dates are close. Quicken can guess which transactions should be matched, but it isn't perfect.
Simply click the Status icon on the far left (the blue pencil/blue dot icon) and select "Reject Automatic Transaction Match" from the dropdown menu. Then, when the check subsequently clears the bank and downloads to Quicken, if it doesn't auto-match, simply drag the downloaded check entry over the manually-entered check entry (or vice versa) to manually match them. There is a preference you can set in Settings > Connected Services to tell Quicken whether you want it to use the date you originally entered or the date it cleared the bank.

Thank you! The $100 check, which has not been cashed, is dated over a month ago.
We made an ATM withdrawal for $100 and later in the day while checking Quicken I saw the check had cleared. I contacted the person I had sent the check to and they said they had forgotten to cash the check. I then realized the the ATM withdrawal had not been recorded and realized Quicken had cleared the check but had not recorded the ATM withdrawal.
Thank you for your advice. Much appreciated.0
