How do I view transactions to be downloaded before they post to my register??
i have always manually input my transactions over the last few years. Now for my credit card accounts I would like to download transaction directly from the credit card company. I had manually input my data thru February 2026. I went out and linked Quicken to the credit card company. It asked if I wanted to add a new account or link to an existing account. I linked to an existing account.
Rather than downloading data from February 2026 forward, it downloaded data back to 2024, in effect doubling all my entries….
What am I doing wrong. Is there a way to review (and edit) what the data download is going to bring in before it actually posts to the register??
thanks in advance…

Click EDIT, Preferences, "Downloaded Transactions" and UNcheck the 2 "Automatically add …" options at the top of that dialog.
This will cause downloaded transactions to appear in a box below the register where you can review them before accepting them.
But note, that since these have already been downloaded, unless you reset the account (or de/re-activate it) these won't be re-downloaded … so the issue is unlikely to happen again.
RE: all of those duplicate transactions. Have you been regularly reconciling the account? If so, previously input and reconciled transactions should be marked with "R" in the CLR column, while the newly downloaded transactions will be "c".
SO, take a backup (just in case) and then click on the CLR column header to sort by that column. Then you can mass select and mass delete the old transactions (say 2025 and before) and then review the 2026 transactions to determine which are dupes and which belong. Obviously, you can choose another threshold date as well.
