How are online balances for credit cards determined?

Question

I have one credit card online balance in Quicken that is different from the credit card statement.  This card statement has a zero balance; the card is paid down to a zero balance in the credit card statement.  However, the online balance in Quicken is -1170.23.  I assume Quicken is not using a calculation to arrive at the online balance.  True?

I have two other cards with a zero balance and Quicken is reporting a zero online balance.  What is happening with the one card?

@QwikOne If you're truly running QW2016, as your profile indicates, you haven't been able to download from that card into Q for YEARS.  So how could you expect a value that's downloaded from your bank to be correct?

BUT, assuming your profile is out-dated, what download method are you using with this card?  Click TOOLS, Account List and please tell use what's shown in the "Transaction Download", "Last Download" and "Financial Institution' columns next to this card account.

And when, in your last sentence, you say "Quicken register" do you actually mean the "Online Balance" value that's BELOW the register?  Which, again, is downloaded … not calculated, by Q.
