Quicken Users, realize we have multiple voices that can have an impact. As Bank of America customers who use Quicken Desktop have discovered, Quicken format downloads are no longer "supported". In the fall of 2025, the downloads started to not work correctly. Enable account 1 and account 2 does not work, enable account 2 and account 1 no longer works. Well, this was aggravating to say the least.
I used to say Bank of America was excellent for transactions and downloads into Quicken ALWAYS worked, but not now. Why did Bank of America drop Quicken support? We will never really know. Since setting up a new relationship with a Bank is time consuming and difficult, most customers will stay, as I have.
I have stayed on hold for the 45 minutes it takes to get to a human at Bank of America and told them, I am not leaving, but I am going to stop using my Bank of America credit card. Also, use the bank much less for other transactions. I do a manual reconcile now and don't worry about the rebates that have also changed to "may be discontinued at any time."
Take your business to Rock Point Bank in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Chase, Capital One, Wells Fargo, or for better interest Marcus by Goldman Sachs, or any other bank in your area that has Quicken Downloads. Marcus does not offer Quicken format downloads and they never did offer Quicken Downloads. Instead they pay higher interest as an online savings account.
Vote with your feet and take your business where the customer is still appreciated. Since Bank of America does not support us, let us not support them. Institutions make bad decisions occasionally, this is but one example. Perhaps the programmers that supported Quicken at Bank of America were replaced by "No Intelligence Bots" (A.I.), or a new Vice President wanted to make an impact, but this was a "customer last" decision.
I do not use the One-Step Update feature in Quicken.
