Account "Reconcile Details" Problem
Am I the only one having this problem? I'm using Quicken Classic Business & Personal on Windows.
I'm trying to reconcile my accounts, that earn interest, and don't have the ability to download transactions. There are no problems in the "Enter the following from your bank statement" section. BUT, the "Categorize your interest and bank charges, if any" section, I CANNOT enter a 2 digit month AND 2 digit day. It seems the field has a character limit of 9, so using the separator "/" you cannot enter things like "12/31/YYYY"
I have found a kludge workaround, but it's annoying. You have to delete everything, and enter the date as "1231YYYY", then it will auto-expand to "12/31/YYYY"

I found the same issue, just now, when typing … but why don't you just click on the calendar icon next to that date field and click on the date you want?
OR, I also discovered that I could delete the value in the field and type 12312026 which will auto-correct to 12/31/2026.
Personally, however, I don't have the issue because I download into all of my interest paying accounts.

An alternative to typing in the full date is to use date keyboard shortcuts.
- m for beginning of month
- h for end of month
- y for beginning of year
- r for end of year
Are just a few examples.

I am admittedly on an older version (R61.21) but I do see a problem with the full 03/31/2026 entry. I do not have a problem with (starting from a blank field)
- 03/31/26
- 03312026
- 0331 defaults to current year
- 331
- 3/31/2026
- 303 for March 3 current year
Starting with the field having a date in it (12/31/2025), then entering the month with a leading 0 becomes a problem.
My ‘general rules’ would be:
- Don’t use leading 0 for month
- Don’t use century for year
- Use leading 0 for day (122 will be Jan 22, use 1202 for Dec 2)
