Synchrony CC - Rooms to Go, CareDirect
I am trying to add two CCs to Quicken — Rooms to Go and CareDirect. Both appear in the synchrony.com account when I log in.
Website
Name: Synchrony
Accounts: Rooms to Go and CareDirect
URL: synchrony.com
Quicken
When doing TOOLS » ADD ACCOUNT, I have tried several options and none work.
*Synchrony Bank Credit Cards ←— right logo, wrong URL (synchronybank.com)
*Value City Furniture Credit Card (synchrony.com) ←wrong logo, right URL
*CareCredit
*Brand Smart USA
* There is no "Rooms to Go" option
I searched the community for others who experienced this issue, but did not find a solution that works.
I'd appreciate any guidance so that I can get these account added to my Quicken file!

Hello @DDub,
Thank you for letting us know you're encountering issues connecting your accounts. To help troubleshoot, I checked our internal tools and can see that you're getting CC-503 (invalid credentials) errors.
There is currently a known issue connecting branded cards serviced by Synchrony. Please review this Community Alert for more information:
You mentioned that you see both accounts when you log in on Synchrony. Are you using their relatively new login portal to view all your accounts?
Were the accounts previously under different or separate logins? If they were, what were the URLs (web addresses) you previously had to use to view the accounts directly through the financial institution website? Do you remember the credentials you used? If you do, please try using the older credentials when attempting to connect the accounts in Quicken. Note: The Synchrony Bank Credit Cards connection will not work with branded credit cards serviced by Synchrony.
I look forward to your reply!

To address your questions:

When I accessed the website account using the login credentials in their vault password (including URL), it did ask if she had moved to their new portal. I selected "yes" and was able to access the accounts using the login credentials on file in the vault.

I am managing financials for a family member, so I am not aware of the history with these accounts.
The credentials she uses now are unchanged from those that were in her password vault.

Hi @DDub,
The issue may be related to the Community Alert shared above. To confirm the correct option for connecting your accounts in Quicken, you can download a QFX file directly from the Synchrony website and import it into Quicken. This will display the correct financial institution name to use during setup.
If the option shown matches one of the ones you’ve already tried and results in the CC-503 error, that behavior is likely related to the ongoing alert. In that case, we’ll need to wait until the issue is resolved before the connection will work successfully.
Here is how to export/import the QFX file:
Downloading a QFX file from your financial institution's website
- Log in to your financial institution's website.
- Select the account you wish to download transactions for. The download option is usually on the transactions page for an account.
- Select the download link. This is usually represented by a download symbol using a down arrow such as
- You may need to select the download format. Look for the format QFX or Web Connect.
- You will also have to specify the Date Range (Start Date / End Date). You may also need to select the account or accounts you wish to download. If you are updating your transactions, you'll want to have a start date the day of or the day after your last recorded transaction in Quicken.
- Once you have filled out all of your information there should be a button to select such as Download or Export or Start to start downloading the transaction.
The transaction will download into the default directory/folder for your browser. This is usually the Downloads directory.
Importing a QFX file into Quicken
Once you have downloaded your QFX file, you'll need to import that file into Quicken. If this file was requested as part of a process, such as the Download Transactions screen, follow the instructions there. Otherwise follow the instructions below:
- Back up your Quicken Data File.
- Go to the File menu and select File Import → Quicken Transfer Format (.QFX) File.
The Import .QFX File screen will appear. - Use the Browse button to find and select the file you want to import.
- Click Open or double-click the file to import.
Follow the on-screen instructions.

There is no option to download ANYTHING on this site, aside from PDF statements.

Hi @DDub,
Thank you for taking the time to try that. I appreciate it.
I recommend reaching out to your financial institution directly to confirm the correct instance to use when connecting your accounts in Quicken. This situation may also be related to the current Community Alert, which could explain why you’re seeing the CC-503 error across all Synchrony instances while still being able to log in on their website.
I understand how frustrating this can be. At the moment, the connection may not work until the underlying issue is resolved, but we’re keeping a close eye on it.
Please don’t hesitate to share any updates on your end. I’m happy to continue assisting.
