Losing check number

I manually create a scheduled transaction where I specify the check number. Then when Quicken downloads the actual transaction, the algorithm matches the record. However, the check number is lost. I then have to manually add the check number back into the register.

I'm going to assume you are talking about a single future dated transaction rather than a scheduled transaction series (because there's no no check number field available for entry when creating a scheduled transaction).

That said, I'm guessing that when the bank transmits the the transaction, it is doing so without a check number included. And then Quicken is using the (blank) check number field when the transaction matches. I looked back at my similar transactions, but my bank is transmitting the check number, so I can't tell for sure if this is what's happening. But I would think this is by design with the philosophy that what the bank transmits has priority.
