Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) no longer supports Quicken Downloads
I use WIN 11 and for many years (decades) Quicken Classic Premier (Now R67.7 Build 12.167.7). On 4/21/2026 I downloaded my NFCU account transactions as I always do daily. Never before have I encountered download problems with NFCU. (Note: I never used 'one-step-updates' for NFCU accounts. My Morgan Stanley investment accounts do use 'one-step-updates' with no problems.)
On 4/21/26 I was no longer offered a NFCU option to download in a Quicken format. I queried NFCU by email and received the following replies:

Response from Navy Federal
Thank you for using Navy Federal's eMessaging Service, Commander xxxxx. We truly understand how disruptive this change may be and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it has caused. At this time, Navy Federal offers transaction history downloads through Digital Banking in CSV and PDF formats only, as other file formats are no longer supported. If you use Quicken, you may still be able to upload a CSV file manually or connect your account directly through Quicken. We would like to thank you for your military service. We appreciate your patience and understanding as you work through this change, and we’re always here to help if you have questions or need assistance.

OH, BOY!!!! Has NFCU truly messed up my Quicken accounts. How could you DO this???? I followed your directions. I re authorized Quicken to download these accounts. What happened? THOUSANDS, yes, Thousands of transactions were downloaded for my accounts. Luckily, I had backed up my Quicken yesterday and I am able to restore the account ledgers to what I have saved yesterday. I cannot imagine what I am to do? If I understand you, I must download a CVS or PDF file and then enter each new transaction manually. Have you thus invited me to re-enter the 1970's? Maybe you can assuage my anger by telling me how I can properly download my most recent transactions. Please help me

Response from Navy Federal
Thank you for your follow‑up eMessage, Commander xxxxx. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience or frustration this issue may have caused. To download your most recent transactions in Online Banking, select the account for which you need the transaction history, then choose the “Download” button located to the far right of the screen next to “Transaction History.” You will be able to download the transactions as either a PDF or CSV file. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to let us know."

FOR THIS FORUM
Can this be true? NFCU will no longer support Quicken? Are other banking institutions also stopping to support Quicken downloads?
I tried to download transactions into a csv format and am overwhelmed by an inability to merge the csv transactions into my Quicken account ledgers.
Is the only option open for me to enter each and every transaction manually?
Can anything be don here?
Thanks!

Bigger groups than Navy Federal have dropped the Web Connect .QFX download support, Discover Bank and Card did so over a year ago, they just don't want to pay the fees to be a participating Quicken partner. The fees actually go to Intuit which does all of that stuff.
Personally, I use ImportQIF (free) to convert the CSV files to QIF for import into Quicken. Quicken (in 2018) made QIF imports stupid. They are just jammed into the register, no renaming, no matching, no anti-dup.
ImportQIF does renaming and anti-dup (of transactions that it has processed). You have to be careful with the matching to existing transactions since that is completely under Quicken's control.
Note: If you have a transaction in an account such as a credit card for the payment but don't have it as a transfer yet, when you import the checking account transaction and make it a transfer the the CC, Quicken will ask if the CC payment transaction is a match.
ImportQIF can be found at https://github.com/qpwSoftware/ImportQIF
