Quicken doesn't reflect transactions in Portfolio view
I owned stock in a company that was bought in January. On January 20 the XYZ shares were purchased and I put the money into a Schwab Money Market Fund. This is clear in Transaction view. Switch to Portfolio view, and the old XYZ shares are still on the list, at an inaccurate price ($21.69, whereas the final selling price was $22.00), and the cash is also listed, though not placed in SWVVX—so Portfolio view shows me as having about twice as much money in the account as I actually have. 1) How can this possibly happen? 2) What can be done, when Quicken simultaneously knows of transactions and has no clue about them?

Search in the account register for the word "Placeholder". Quicken creates placeholder transactions when it thinks what's being reported by the brokerage doesn't match Quicken's holdings. Oftentimes, simply deleting the placeholder transaction will resolve the issue. Always make a backup first.
