Since update, all Apple Pay transactions no longer show the vendor, just say "Apple"

Question

I notice that in the last 2 months that all downloaded transactions for purchases I made using Apple Pay for my credit card, which for years used to show the name of the actual vendor the transaction was for, now only get imported into Quicken as "Apple" which make is the majority of my transactions.  This makes it quite useless to track my expenses. Does anyone know of a way to get this switched back so that the vendor or company I purchased used my apple pay for shows up again automatically, instead of just showing "Apple" with no other information?

Forgot to mention that already existing transactions which had their Payee Name incorrectly changed to "Apple" will have to be edited and changed to what the payee name really should be.

Renaming Rules only apply to the initial arrival of a newly downloaded transaction. They do not retroactively apply to old transactions.

For the time being it might be advisable to manually record Apple Pay transactions into your register BEFORE you download transactions from the bank. This way you have a correctly named and categorized transaction in the register that you can match the downloaded transaction to.

This happens to me with just my Discover card too.  The payee is not always just "Apple" when using ApplePay.  Sometimes it is the locality of the restaurant.  Using the "Revert" choice in the Downloaded Transactions window will also show the correct merchant name.  In other cases of ApplePay Discover card transactions, some numbers in the merchant names are replaced by X's (e.g. store number).  None of this happens when I use ApplePay with other credit cards.  I do not have any naming rules defined and it is unchecked in Preferences too.  This just happened relatively recently.  I've posted about this in another thread too.

There's at least one other discussion, albeit one that's for Quicken for Windows, where downloaded transactions' Payee Names get changed to "Apple" regardless of what else is in the Payee Name and should be retained.
