Average Annual Return (AAR)

Windows 11. Quicken R67.7. I have been using Quicken for our HOA investments since 1996. Specifically, we have two Vanguard mutual funds in question that have undergone their third CONVERSION between them, i.e. from A to B, then B to A, and then A to B. I have used the REMOVED and ADDED actions to log them.

I have created AAR reports for each individual mutual fund and ETF in the portfolio. I also created the same type of report for a AAR report for both of these combined, A + B with a result of 5.14%. This last conversion makes me question the AAR result. So, I have explored using the Quicken INVESTMENT PERFORMANCE REPORT and getting a much different result (8.92%) but both reports call the result an AAR. Any ideas as to why they are so different? Thank You.

What report were you using initially, before you tried the Investment Performance Report, and how were the reports subtotaled? Was it an Investing > Performance view, or something else? If it was a Performance view, what was the exact title of the column you were looking at?

Were you looking at account level performance, or at the individual funds?

When you say "conversion," was it a share class conversion, from Investor to Admiral shares of the same fund, or did you change to a different fund?

Your answers to these questions will help guide further responses.

Originally using Investment Performance w/detail for both funds together since it was a conversion which gave me Investment, Return, AAR.

Used above report for each fund in portfolio plus these two funds together because of conversion. There is a significant price difference on the conversion funds.

Conversion was for class of fund.
